EcoSafe Systems
Bosch Rexroth offers the versatility of EcoSafe™, a wide range of machine and perimeter guarding options for creating physical enclosures, guards, and barriers to protect workers. EcoSafe™ panels assemble and install easily from standard components. Partitions can be constructed of wire mesh screens, protective panes or panels, and then mounted directly into T-slot profiles that have already been integrated into a system.

NE1A Safety Network Controllers and Monitoring Relays
Control reliability is mandated in U.S. standards for safety implemented circuits. These criteria can be met by using redundant safety-rated device outputs in conjunction with a safety relay. Safety relays range in function from stop motion detection to 2-hand palm button control, to dual channel input units with time-delayed outputs that provide conformity to ANSI B11.19, Section 5.1. All safety relays carry the CE mark and are UL and C-UL listed.

Safety Network Controllers
NE1A Safety Network Controller can be used 3-ways: as a stand-alone controller; as an expandable safety network with remote I/O blocks; or combined with an existing DeviceNet network to form a Safety + Control Network. Eliminate long runs of complicated wiring during installation. This system replaces wiring with a network between safety components distributed over many different locations. Programmable safety function blocks eliminate rewiring to make modifications. Safety I/O Terminals can be added to increase safety I/O capacity for distributed allocation through the network.

Safety Interlock Switches
Omron STI safety switches are designed to work together with hinged, sliding, or lift-off guards and barriers. When the guard is opened, the power supply to the machine is disconnected.

A4EG Enabling Grip Switches

Safety Contact Strips and Safety Bumpers
The safety edge or safety bumper are flexible strips which can be fixed to the edge of a moving part such as a machine table or powered door where there is a risk of a crushing or shearing hazard. If the moving part that includes the safety edge or bumper strikes operator (or vice versa) the flexible safety edge is depressed and will send a signal to the power source to stop.

Quick Disconnect Universal Safety Mats
Rugged Omron STI Universal Safety Mats guard machine operators against some of the potential hazards and dangers of the modern manufacturing environment. An Omron STI Universal Safety Mat system (UM series safety mat combined with an MC3, MC4, or MC6) offers a simple method for guarding personnel around hazardous machines. A safety mat system offers freedom, flexibility, and reduced operator fatigue when compared with traditional guarding methods. Full visibility of and access to the work area is maintained.


Compact Safety-Rated Limit Switches
Compact safety-rated limit switches are for determining the position of movable machine components or machine guards that can be moved laterally or rotated. The compact body allows these to be used in confined spaces to monitor the position or presence of moving parts, work pieces, or conveyed materials.

Safety Interlock Switches
Protects operators by not allowing a machine to start without having all switches in place closed and also powers off the machine if any switches are tripped.

Emergency Stop Pushbuttons
Command devices are of great importance for the man-machine interface in the area of industrial applications. For example, they are mounted in switch-boards, control panels, two-hand control panels, in lift manufacture and on materials-handling plants, including conveyors. Manual actuation of the devices starts operating sequences and functional processes or serves to bring these to an end.

Safety Light Curtains
Optoelectronic safety device are used as entry, danger point or danger zone guards. Safety light grids and light curtains can be integrated into the safety concept of the machine or plant even under tight space conditions by virtue of their very compact design. These safety devices are also often used on presses to guard danger points or zones. Depending on the particular resolution of the safety light grids and curtains, protection of persons, hands or even fingers can be provided.

Safety Mats and Edges
Actuated by physical contact, tactile safety monitoring devices stop the hazardous movement. The diversity of applications requires constructively different devices.


Enabling Devices
Consent switches are used to protect persons from potentially hazardous situations where machine guards need to be inactivated completely or in part in special operating modes.

Door-handle Actuator
The operator does not have to press a button on an external switching plate when the solenoid interlock at a safety guard needs to be unlocked. The switching function is now exactly where it is needed: On the safety door handle which is used to open the safety guard.

Switches are used to give signals to start machines and to open or close electrically driven doors, gates and barriers.

Programmable Safety Controllers
Safety controllers are connected between machine guarding devices such as keyed interlocks, non-contact
sensors, light curtains, etc. and the machine’s stop control elements such as a motor contactor or control relay. These controllers contain redundant, self-checking monitoring circuits and positive-guided relays and/or solid state outputs. Each is designed to detect faults in the safety system’s components and interconnection wiring, and their own internal monitoring circuits and output.

Permanent Electrical Safety Devices
Permanent Electrical Safety Devices (PESDs) are a family of electrical components hardwired to a source of voltages and installed into electrical systems. They enable workers to verify the voltage status of equipment without exposure to the hazard. PESDs reduce the likelihood of arc flash and shock hazard because they diminish voltage exposure, provide voltage labeling on all sources and allow for 24/7/365 visual and/or audible indication of voltage.

Safety Valve Controls
The manual L-O-X® valve controls air flow simply by a push of its large red handle in or out. The valve is open when the handle is pulled outward and air then moves freely from inlet to outlet ports. A short inward push of the handle closes the inlet to the flow of air and connects the outlet port to the exhaust port immediately exhausting downstream compressed air.

Safety Valve Controls
Ross DM2 Series E Control Reliable valves are a double valve with dynamic monitoring and memory for air dump/release applications. These valves provide memory, monitoring and air flow control functions integrated into two identical valve elements for CAT 4 applications, except for the control of the clutch/brake mechanism on mechanical power presses. DM2 valves lockout if asynchronous movement of valve elements occurs during the actuation or de-actuation, resulting in a residual outlet pressure of less than 1% of supply.


Plugs and Receptacles
Meltric Decontactor Series products combine the safety and function of a switch with the convenience of a plug & receptacle. They are UL and CSA rated for ‘motor circuit’ and ‘branch circuit’ switching and are approved NEC ‘line of sight’ disconnects. Key features, including silver-nickel butt style contacts, enclosed arc chambers, dead front construction and high short circuit ratings, ensure user safety and eliminate the potential for exposure to arc flash or live parts, simplifying compliance with NFPA 70E.


Trim and Fit Rotating Shaft Guards
Type CFCG base mounted fluid coupling guards are made from powder coated steel/aluminum with stainless steel hardware. Available in sizes up to 40 in. diameter, they have axial cooling vents to provide external inspection, improve fluid coupling cooling, and extend oil, bearing, and seal life. After sizing, large guards are simply trimmed to length and adjusted to height.


Residual Pressure Release Valve
SMC’s VP300/500/700 series solenoid valve, offers high flow capacity and reduced power consumption (1.55W standard, 0.55W with power saving circuit). The series may be used as either a selector valve, or a divider valve. It is vacuum applicable up to –101.2kPa. Series VP3145/3165/3185 is a large size, 3 port solenoid valve with a rubber seal. It is possible to use the series in vacuum applications or under low pressure. Safety standard ISO13849-1 for category 3 and 4.

Two-Hand Control
Pneumatic-electric relay series VR32 converts pneumatic signal to electric relay. Series VR3100 indicates the presence of pneumatic pressure. It is equivalent to the pilot lamp of an electrical system. Series VR3110 is an ultra-compact air indicator light to monitor the presence of air pressure. It is equivalent to the pilot lamp of an electrical system.

PSEN Magnetic Safety Sensor
Non-contact, magnetic safety switches are used to monitor the position of guards in accordance with EN 60947-5-3 and also for general position monitoring. PSENmag gives you a cost-optimized system comprising Pilz sensor and control system, including approval. The compact design of the PSENmag saves installation space. Connector and cable for all mounting and approach directions, plus an assured operating distance of 3 or 8/10 mm, enable flexible assembly and rapid, simple installation.


Two-Hand, No-Tie-Down Safety Circuit
Clippard’s VA-023 circuit module is a self-contained modular circuit board with all interconnections required to provide a Two-Hand, No-Tie-Down (THNTD) pneumatic circuit. Use of the VA-023 will assure simple and rapid installation of your Two-Hand-No-Tie-Down circuit. The main function of this control is to require a machine operator to use both hands to actuate the equipment, helping to insure that the operator’s hands are not in a position to be injured by the machine as it is in motion.


Safety Relays
Safety relays are intended to reliably monitor the signals from safety devices at all times and switch off quickly in an emergency. Eaton’s ESR5 safety relays provide optimal safety and a high degree of reliability for plant machinery. The ESR5 enables applications to meet the highest safety ratings in accordance with EN954-1, EN ISO 13849-1 up to PL e, and IEC 62061 up to SILCL 3.
